My agent said he will handle my financial needs. Why do I need Elite Talent Consultants?
This is one of the questions that we hear most frequently. Elite Talent Consultants focuses solely on financial aspects of your career and does not do any contractual work (i.e. negotiate your contract, merchandising, endorsement deals, etc.). Those areas are solely your agent's responsibility and ETC will not interfere. In some cases, some agencies will also provide you the option to utilize their relationships to handle your taxes, investments, budget-planning, etc. However, rarely does an agent have those resources in-house, but instead will outsource them to affiliates. By choosing ETC, you will have the peace of mind knowing experts are handling your needs whose focus is solely on financial planning and taxes, not contractual deals. ETC can also assist you in areas that an agent often does not, such as bill pay, foundation/charity work, and monthly budget planning. We will never compete with your agent, but work in tandem to assure all your needs are met. ETC becomes the purposes partner in the relationship between you and your agent. If you have any additional concerns, we can speak with your agent directly and coordinate how we can work together for your best interests. Most agents are very receptive and supportive of the services we offer as it provides them a single financial resource to call upon for their client (you).
Can you provide a list of your clients?
Elite Talent Consultants holds high esteem for personal privacy and confidentiality. As such, we do not publicly announce the names athletes with whom we work for privacy concerns. We believe privacy is a key factor of relationships with our clients Instead, we grant our clients the option to state his or her affiliation with ETC, and upon request from prospective ETC clients and agents, we will make those names available.
Do you work only with a certain type of athlete?
No. We work with all professional athletes and high net worth families of all varieties. Our services extend to NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, minor leagues (baseball & hockey), and individual sports (golf, tennis, etc.) Also, we work with both male and female athletes.
Do I have to use all the services that ETC provides?
While ETC advises to keep your financial needs grouped together and handled by one firm, you do not need to utilize each and every service that we provide. Consider our list of services an "a la carte" menu; where you can pick and choose which the financial services ETC can deliver. For example, a client might not feel that bill pay and budget planning services are necessary, but want their taxes and investments managed and later aspire to create a private foundation. Another client may only wish for ETC to advise in tax preparation and planning. In any case, ETC will deliver exceptional results catered to each client's needs.
Can you describe your bill pay services?
Considering the hectic schedules of our clients, particularly throughout season, ETC will help you make sure all your bills are paid in a timely manner. This can include, but are not limited to mortgage/rent, car payment, utilities, credit cards etc. Closely related to this is our budget planning services, in which ETC will help you set a budget for monthly expenditures and consult with you regarding any significant financial decisions. Overall, it is our goal to mitigate your concerns while maintaining appropriate spending habits to protect your future nest egg.
I would like to start a foundation or contribute money to my school and/or charity. How can you help me?
Absolutely! One of the areas that ETC specializes in is charitable gift planning and foundation development and management. Whether you would like to donate a one-time amount to your alma mater, begin an annual scholarship fund, support a not-for-profit charity, or start a full foundation in your name, ETC can help you every step of the way including on-going foundation accounting and management. ETC's Founding Member Richard Betor has a diverse background and a multitude of experience in these areas and will work with you every step of the way to help make you dream a reality.
Will my investments be handled by a NFLPA Certified Financial Advisor or equivalent advisor?
Yes, Elite Talent Consultants works exclusively with financial advisors & wealth managers who are certified by the NFL Players' Association (NFLPA) and other credentialing agencies who are affiliated with highly-recognizable, well-respected financial firms. As such, your investments will be handled by the some of the best advisors in the country. ETC will never compromise your wealth by directing your funds to non-certified money managers.
Can you help me with my travel, transportation and real estate needs?
Elite Talent Consultants has developed relationships with various firms and/or individuals who focus exclusively in these and other areas. If you require assistance with private travel, car purchase or lease, or housing needs, ETC can introduce you to experts in these fields and can assist you with the appropriate tax implications and financial questions associated with these expenditures.
